Welcome to e-agency SPAM services.

Introduction

Currently, e-agency provides site wide protection from unsolicited commercial e-mail via an open-source application called 'SpamAssassin'. It filters e-mail based on a set of rules that can check the message body, headers, and even the delivering e-mail server.

SpamAssassin uses a point system to gauge the sevarity of each rule, then totals those points to equate a message score. By defining a threshold, messages that exceed the threshold are labelled as spam, and have their content updated.

While this service does not stop the incoming spam messages from reaching your mailbox, it does allow you to sort your e-mail so spam can be saved in one location, while other messages will remain in your Inbox. The result is a substantially easier method of viewing e-mail, yet still flexible enough to allow messages through.

If you have recently received a message that has been filtered by out e-mail server, you will notice that a report has replaced the original message. This report will detail which rules were successfully tested and the score applied to the message. It will also show the total score, as well as the score necessary to make the message flagged as spam.

Below is an example of a message that has been caught by the spam filter.

Spam detection software, running on the system "mx2.e-agency.com", has
identified this incoming email as possible spam. The original message
has been attached to this so you can view it (if it isn't spam) or block
similar future email. If you have any questions, see
http://support.e-agency.com/spam.html for details.
